Oral Chelation
Since 1988, the Environmental Protection Agency has required dentists to treat amalgam fillings that are removed as hazardous waste. However, the various regulatory agencies as well as American Dental Association insist that putting “hazardous waste” in the mouth is safe. (1)

I just realized that I jumped back into this forum and in all probability I have been forgotten a long time ago. I used to be on here many moons ago, but it has been quite a while that I have done anything regularly. I used to be Marilyn in Seattle… but I moved back to Canada in August of 2004. This was precipitated by a confluence of factors. My husband was laid off in 2002, after the dot com crash, and we hung on for a couple of years hoping that the economy would resurrect. Our health insurance disappeared along with the job and due to my MS it did not seem wise to be without any kind of insurance. So we moved from Seattle to Vancouver Island, and while Canada’s health insurance system is under great stress and is not terribly enlightened, at least I have coverage should I break a leg again. The government also helps out with home support here without the caveat that you have to be absolutely destitute to qualify. So here I is.
I think the thing that is going to be my saving grace this time is the OSR. It is not causing any inflammation that I can detect. Nor is it causing any kind of redistribution problems. I take it at the same time that I am taking the grapefruit seed extract and for the first time I am tolerating an antifungal. This makes me very hopeful as quite frankly I have deteriorated to the point where I have started to wonder whether I could regain any functioning. So I may be on here more frequently. Also this time around, I am finding it easier to stick with the no sugar lifestyle. And no wheat and no dairy… I see some familiar names, and hello to everyone… hi Polly!

Hi Marilyn,
I knew it was you. Nice to hear from you again. I assume the product you talk about still isn’t available to the general public. I hope this works for you. There have been so many things that seemed to hold out promise for you, but after a while, were shown not to be the magic bullet. It this one is, then it is something that has to be shouted from the highest mountains.
For those of you familiar with our forum books, you should recognize “Marilyn in Seattle” as a major contributor.

Yes, it got to be quite embarrassing, and frankly I no longer recommend any product to anyone nor do I tout that I have found the answer to mercury detoxification… I do know that it is very hard to accept being debilitated. Never in my wildest did I imagine having to sit in a wheelchair, unable to wiggle a toe or lift a leg. I am grateful of course that I can still have my mind, at least I think I do. My eyesight has never been affected, unlike so many with this MS diagnosis… I friend of mine has double vision all the time and is unable to read, use a computer or watch TV… I still seem to cognitively process information, evaluate information, and remember information… in fact my memory seems much better than most around me, thank God for that. So how can the brain still be basically healthy and the nervous system so damaged? I mean they are one and the same. I look in the mirror and I think “how can anybody look this healthy and be this screwed up?” And it is a real puzzler… I mean obviously cells are being replaced, skin is remaining intact, hair is growing the standard half an inch a month. So why is my nervous system not repairing itself? If my digestive system is totally trashed, then how come my eyes are bright and incredibly clear? Sometimes it seems like some perverse trick being played.
I guess the only thing you can do is to keep on keeping on, try to figure out this weird enigma. A I do know that I now have more discipline, because I so want to get out of this predicament and get my life back. I think the OSR is the best chelation product that I’ve tried, I have no bad side effects whatsoever. If my husband were not presently unemployed again, I would try to get the fecal test to measure what is coming out. As it is, I just have to trust that is doing what is purported to do. Dr. Jeff Clark is running some of the testing on his patients, and his comment is that “OSR rocks”. I gather they are doing some limited testing on patient glutathione levels and getting some impressive numbers in upward positive directions… they are mostly testing children, and that is one of the questions I have about body burden. Children are not going to have the same level of toxic accumulation, or one would hope that they would not. I don’t know how long it will take adults to significantly reduce a lifetime of exposure and storage. I have read that they believe that adults can have about a quarter of an ounce of mercury all told… must take a while to excrete that.
Anyway, like you I am wishing this is the answer for me, because it gets wearing trying to figure out how to regain what is lost. I still have hope, although some days it does seem a bit misguided to believe one can reverse such breakdown. I try to listen to optimistic messages and doctors etc., but it takes constant effort to weed out pie-in-the-sky hyperbole from practical advice that I can implement… I do believe that candidiasis is heavily involved, probably key to recovery. Reading Ann Boroch’s book is very heartening because one of the key elements she believes to be involved in the development of MS is how many antibiotics one has taken in a lifetime. In my case, it is too frequent to count. It started when I was a teenager and I was developing bladder infections… here comes the mercury connection… I have three kidneys, and I believe that the mercury was impeding kidney function. So I was always taking a drug called Gantrison, a sulfa antibiotic. In my front tooth started to abscess when I was in my early 20s, and that was treated umpteen times with antibiotics until the doctor told me to pull out, that abscesses so close to the brain used to kill people. So I pulled the tooth, had it replaced with a bridge that crossed the
midline… years later, I discovered that when a rigid bridge crosses the midline, it freezes the entire skull into place and causes all kinds of issues… also the front teeth are on the kidney meridians… when I had the bridge removed, that helped a great deal. But it was getting the mercury out of my teeth that truly helped three years of chronic bladder infections and three years of continual antibiotics… I was living on Cipro… anyway, I cannot imagine some days that I have survived such an attack on my whole system. Some days I think I am an example of what it is possible to survive. I remember Christopher Reeve saying that he did not want to be the poster boy for spinal injuries… I second that, I do not want to be the poster girl for Mercury/Candida/Renal Disease… time to go and feed the seagulls yet again!

I think the general public can get OSR these days…

Hi i notice that you have been around awhile on the forum, so i take it your not better and you are still struggling with candida !!!!
*Author: Marilyn in Sidney
Well, yes and no… I was very discouraged about going after the candida because every time I took antifungals, it would flatten me energy wise, but worse than that, it would result in more neurological deterioration. The very first time I ever posted on this forum was just after I had taken Nystatin… I think this was back in 1995 or 1996… the stuff basically paralyzed me for three days, and I started to write on here, telling people that what had happened to me was more than just die off, it was a total re-poisoning… but somehow killing the Candida had released a ton of mercury into my body. I feel like I was the forerunner somewhat in understanding the link between Candida and Mercury… now it is far more accepted that candida cell walls absorb mercury and release it back into the bloodstream when using antifungals… I had the same type of reaction to every antifungal that I tried and I must admit guiltily enough that I also did not adhere closely enough to the diet… now, with the OSR, I can take antifungals and not get that side effect/devastation… so we shall see if I can overcome the bottleneck of Candida… how are you doing?

what is OSR? IM STILL STRUGGLING WITH THIS DIET YOU WOULD THINK ITS ROCKET SCIENCE!! CANT TAKE ANTIFUNGALS EITHER

OSR is a new chelating agent developed by Boyd Haley, the premier mercury researcher. Unfortunately, due to FDA hassling, he is not calling it a chelator, but rather a method of reducing oxidative stress in the body… from all indications it drastically increases glutathione in the body, which should help get rid of any pollutants in the system. It is the first chelating agent besides zeolite that I have tolerated…
