Systematic Candida Infection

05.02.2011 · Posted in Uncategorized

Usually trace amounts of Candida can be found in the gut and in various locations in the body, but candida infections can occur throughout the body in people with decreased immunity. Systemic candida infection is a serious medical condition that requires immediate medical treatment. There is no such thing as a minor systemic candida infection with mild symptoms. Candida infections may include fever, low blood pressure, elevated heart rate, respiratory problems, multiorgan issues, and sometimes a systemic rash or skin peeling. This is a dangerous condition.(1)

So, this forum is very useful, but I have to say it is a bit depressing to see all these people who have been battling with candida for so long and still haven’t gotten over it. I am determined on most days, that I will find a way to beat this for good and go back to living a normal, if somewhat healthier life, but sometimes it all seems rather daunting.

The really frustrating thing is that systemic candida is not even recognized by the medical community as even existing. I mean how many people are affected by this and how many more could be helped if the problem were recognized and identified more readily? And if research were actually done regarding the efficacy of all these treatments we are trying? I feel like I am just blundering along, spending tons of money and feeling sick much of the time.

I would do anything to be free of this. But I should still be thankful that I have what I do and use my good days wisely….

I don’t know if it is valid or not, but my doctor Dr. Lyn Hanshew, says that when someone cannot get rid of the candida, that it keeps recurring, there are problems with mercury. Mercury and candida are interdependent she says, and she said that in her practice, she had patients that were on antifungals for years, and when they detox mercury, the candida clears up… I personally do not believe that, I believe that you still have to kill the candida especially if it is in the mycelial form… I have so many times “flushed” the candida out with vitamin C flushes, or gallons of apple cider vinegar and vitamin C and it just comes back. It grows back. I will feel good for a couple of days after doing these rather extreme treatments, but in two days I am back to square one. I think getting the mercury out of your system completely is very difficult to do as it is stored in so many organs and fat cells… it will take years for me to detox even using OSR I believe. I think heavy metals and fungi have relationships that we do not fully understand… but I do know that getting even temporarily rid of a load of intestinal Candida makes me feel great for a couple days. I am hoping the OSR will remove enough mercury that I can just use a daily dose of antifungal, not such a big deal really considering how many heavy-duty drugs so many people are on.

Thanks for your response. I have had problems with mercury and lead. The last test I did showed the mercury was down to normal levels, but the lead was still high. Perhaps this is affecting the candida. I am using EDTA suppositories and oral chelating agents. It could be good to keep in touch as we both seem to have similar issues to see what is working for us.

I’ve also read a lot about the relationship between mercury and candida and definately would believe this based on my own experience. The good news is that once the mercury is gone, the die-off rxns are much more bearable. I used to have horrible die-offs, but now I just get really tired and a little irritable. Nothing like before where I couldn’t move out of bed and my mental symptoms made me feel like I was really losing it!
