Saprophytic Fungi
Candida Infection, Candida Overgrowth, caused by Candida albicans, is a fungal disease. Yeasts have become increasingly significant as pathogens in all fields of medicine. This is particularly true of saprophytes that feed themselves by eating dead tissue, not living tissue. These yeasts can have aggressive behavior toward a host with a compromised condition which can be made worse by immune system overload. There are about 100,000 types of fungi and 50 types cause disease in humans. Fungi can harmlessly live on our skin, in our mucous membranes in our mouth and vaginal tract but omeone who is compromised by radiation treatments, antibiotic therapy, AIDS/HIV, corticosteroid treatment has a lowered ability to keep them in check. I think it's more likely that you die when your body no longer has the strength to resist infection, whether opportunistic ones like Candida, or ones that you catch from outside. You ultimately lose when you are to weak to fight. I should also add that it's possible to feel like you are dying when in fact you are just suffering a lot, and you are really quite far from death. You can go through really dark periods of intense suffering and fright, and emerge on the other side, alive and kicking. Sometimes its quite hard to see around the bend.

I had a first cousin that showed all the symptoms of systemic infection with candida, she was about 55 at the time. I tried to get her interested in taking responsibility and reading some material I had furnished her, she laughed along with her extended family and made fun of me for playing doctor. It was about a year later that she became very sick, could not eat, throwing up and white as a sheet. They rushed her to the hospital and the white coat deities diagnosed liver, gall bladder trouble and pancreaitis at different times. They said they were aware of the candida but were not concerned with it until the got her stabalized. She was put on life support after about a week and stayed on it for 6 weeks before dying. They gave the cause of death as blood sepsis. I think the final bill was around 250 thousand dollars. It's unbelievable how people put so much confidence in doctors when they can see the death and sickness all arouond them. I will use doctors but with some knowledge and participation in what is happenning to me.
